Blame Hugh

So last night Courtney and I sat down to watch "Two Weeks Notice" starring Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant. Courts was appalled I had not seen this movie, I was appalled at myself for not having seen this movie. Because I am a sucker for Hugh Grant films.

HG, in my opinion, IS romantic comedy. I love all his movies without fail. They cause me to swoon in a major way. Then it hit me...

HUGH GRANT is why I have an overwhelming attraction to British men...

He plays the same type of character all the time, slightly awkward, sarcastic, overly confident (Bridget Jones) often sweet (Notting Hill)... and there is always some sickeningly delightful "NAAAAW" moment in which the conflict is resolved, and old charmer Hugh gets the girl.

This shit has somewhere along the line led me to believe that if you come across someone with such mannerisms, similar humour, (who am I kidding, all they need is the accent) then said "naaww" moments will happen to you too.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE!

From my experiences so far, British guys are jerks! Yes they are hilarious, cute (sometimes... I know the stereotype is that they're fug, but the cute ones def exist.) And their accents rock, BUT, they have caused too much :'( and not enough :D in my case.

Though with all that said, I think maybe it's just men in general that are jerks.

But now I have someone to blame for my pommie obsession. BLAME HUGH!
