Luckily Bar Nothing wasn't packed, so we got on the 5 for $20 cocktails asap. They were delicious, (my fav was the "Brangelina") and after a few I had forgotten my taxi woes and was well on the way to beast mode (see above). The bar had a nice atmosphere, heaps of comfy seats and was a brilliant place to chill and talk some rot.
After that, we went to the good old Rochy for cider and dancing... and many a photo was bombed with "PINTSSSS!" (Thanks Olly).
Next day I was up nice and early (and thankfully somewhat functioning) for my uncle Mike's joint 50th with his friend Laurent. Laurent is also a chef, and he prepared the 11 course degustation for lunch...
I had such delicacies as caviar, cream cheese wrapped in salmon, duck liver pate, and other gourmet things I cannot spell or pronounce. We had Sgroppino (an italian cocktail made with gelato, vodka and champagne) and there was a different wine for each course..
So, after all that wine, I was straight back into beast mode. My cousin Matt dropped me off last night and I thought it would be a good idea to go straight to a housewarming with Kayla. It was not a good idea... By 10pm extreme exhaustion set in and I trammed myself home to bed, where I had an epic 11 hour sleep.
So it has been a large weekend indeed, thanks to the fellow beasts who came to party on Friday and to Mike and Jane for a beautiful lunch and good times with the Melbourne fam! Now, to spend my last evening of being 21 with season 4 of Friends, Pepsi max and K. Hammond.
