I've gotten a little addicted to tumblr and so I'm blogging over there now. I like its dash better. Still working on my layout. But I've posted a bit (something I have totally failed to do here for a very long time.)
So please my loves, feel free to follow me over at THE TUMBLR BLOG!

What I'm seeing
From the bedroom window. Pretty good shot for an iphone camera, right?
I love storms! They're so exciting. I'm meant to be working now but have become totally distracted by the flashes and bangs. (Actually, I'm surprised we still have power right now)...

I love him..
Apologies in advance for trashing your blogger feed with this... actually no, I make no apologies, this is a pure delight to the eyes.
I have found the love of my life. The initial thought, "Captain America's hot.." has become, a full-blown, all-consuming celebrity crush.
I get these intense crushes on celebrities now and then and it's awesome. When I was 12 it was babyfaced Tom Felton. When I was 15 is was Orlando Bloom as Legolas. Last year it was Barney Stinson (not Neil Patrick Harris. Just Barney).
So much healthier than crushes on real boys, don't you think? Haha.
Seriously though. Chris Evans. Come find me...

Boooo.
It has happened. I have obtained the worst injury I have ever had in my life.
While playing netball the other night, I ambitiously leapt for the ball.. caught it.. and then proceeded to land this jump on my ankle. A sickening POP was heard throughout the court, I screamed, and clutched my leg. Needless to say I lost possession of the ball.
So now I am crutchin' about with my ankle in a brace, and it sucks. At first I was excited to have a sports related injury, but now I am stuck in an upstairs apartment, and I'm hungry. My hands and elbows are bruised from the crutches, and getting dressed is a mission.. I still have not showered since the event as I do not know how to tackle the situation. (I know, I'm disgusting.)
And then there's the PAIN!
Praying that it will heal up soon and I won't need to pay for xrays or physio! Hopefully it's a sprain and not a torn or snapped ligament... urgh.
Now for the gross pics...
This morning, the swelling appears down and the bruising worse. Still gonna rest it up for a while though. Wish me luck!

This was about an hour after it happened.. not looking TOO bad |
Just before going to bed on Monday night. My legs are usually skinny as. That is the leg (cankle?) of a fat beast. |
Last night (Tuesday) after wearing a brace all day. Check out that bruising! |

Bar Discoveries ft. Potter
So Josh and I, both having recently graduated, have discovered a grand old thing called MONEY. No, neither of us are earning millions, but we both have more than we did while we were at uni (look, it was borderline poverty at times, the low point being biting into a block of cheese cos it was the only thing in the fridge).
So to celebrate the fact that we're both the only ones in our group properly finished with study now and both a little richer, we hit the city on Sunday afternoon to explore some bars.
First stop was Madame Brussels in Bourke St. I'd been here before but Josh hadn't, and this joint is possibly one of the cutest places in the city. The main parlour is decked out with white garden furniture and astroturf, and the waiters and waitresses are all in tight poncy tennis clothes - it's like stepping into Wimbledon in 1950. There's a nice sunny terrace area outside too.

The bev of choice was a punch called "Lolita", full of strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, mint and a lot of Gin. Was a bit pricey, but delicious. Then...
Fondue for two! This was friggin heavenly. That's all there is to say really.
After this we left on a sugar high and went to check out Rooftop on Swanston St. Up 8 or 9 stories, it's a cute little bar that has a big cinema area. There wasn't a show on when we went, but I can imagine it'd be awesome to watch one there. We went to the bar and ordered Frangelico Sours which were delicious, almost as delicious as the bartender. What?
They were making mulled wine and hot cider while we were there and all the spices and stuff made the joint smell beautiful. Josh and I took a seat, and cos it was a bit chilly, a couple of the big blankets they provide for colder nights (how awesome is that!) and enjoyed the city views.
After that, we went to Geebung in Hawthorn, and that is where the classy and civilised part of our night ended...
So any out of Melbourne readers who come to visit, GO TO THESE 2 PLACES. You won't regret it! And Melbourne readers.. you should have already been by now. X

Why I love living here
Seriously, I know it's not the healthiest lunch but if anyone's ever in Preston, go to Achillion Cakes and pound a slice. They are massive and delicious and less than half of what you'd pay for the same thing in the CBD. They also do brilliant home-made sausage rolls, and baklava. Those Greeks can make good pastry!
Just finished work for the week, ROLL ON SATURDAY NIGHT! x

Christmas came VERY early this morning.
How thrilled I was to wake up to this!
I looked like an utter beast but was so excited I allowed Tom to take a couple of pics, still wearing what I slept in and no makeup (thankyou instagram for your blur feature)
Anyway this is my new baby and it is amazing! I can't wait to edit a video on it, haha. Even use photoshop. Even watch a movie. Or play the Sims! Yes, I will do that during my break tomorrow.
Thankyou very much tax return! This has been a long time coming.
As for my trusty laptop...
We've had some great times over the past 3 years and you have been so good to me. But.. I just don't think I can trust you anymore. It's always something! Look, we can still be friends. After all, we do have about fifty essays together... not to mention the all times we stayed up all night making sweet, sweet videos. I'm gonna take the photos though.. sorry. You will always mean a lot to me! <3
In unrelated news, I saw Captain America last night. I LOVED IT. I think I'm beginning to develop a thing for superhero-comic book movies. Or perhaps it's just that Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth have made some very, very hot Marvel superheroes in films this year.. bring on The Avengers!
